What I would give for a fan made dragon age lore compliant interactive fiction set during those 10 years between Inquisition and Veilguard with a brand new PC who *isn't* the team leader but just one of a group of all new companions from a bunch of factions both new and familiar with a cameo or two from old favourites... like... I understand why it's so unfeasible... but... what if... you know??

There’s something about the Ghorman issue. Krennic wants to go ahead with kalkite extraction even though it risks total collapse of the planet. Putting all the people who live there at risk. Luthen wants to go ahead with the half baked plans they have in favor of a visible rebel presence on a previously peaceful planet, again, putting the people there at risk. Opposite sides of the conflict but both willing to risk whoever they have to for their desired end result. Luther treats Cassian like he’s naive and stupid to dissuade the Ghorman rebels’ attempt at resistance when in reality he was right. They weren’t ready and Luthen knew that. He’s willing to sacrifice the people in favor of the greater good the same way the empire is. His blatant dismissal of life isn’t any less barbaric than Krennic’s. Life is sacred and the loss of it isn’t felt any less when it’s the good guys knowingly sacrificing lives than when it’s the bad guys doing the same thing.

Are we at a level where I can say "many people, especially cis-feminists, use trans men+masc's masculinity and manhood as a justification for dismissing their opinions and experiences, erasing their history and voices, and to ignore, excuse, or even commit violence again them." And everyone can read it and comprehend that I mean exactly what I wrote and do not mean "women oppress men".

when you invert chuuoku’s pink, you get that green secondary colour attached to bb and with every canon release we get ever closer to bb realising their true potential as chuuoku’s antithesis

It’s absolutely baffling to me how many artists and people who are enjoyers of art and design and creativity in its myriad of expressions are willing to just let AI run rampant. They know on an intellectual level all the arguments: copyright infringement, intellectual property, environmental impact, the unseen and often exploitative labor that goes into training these algorithms, but when it’s just for a cheap laugh or a cheap thrill all of that goes out the window.
The point of rejecting these tools is to hold the line, to keep the people who are fanning the flames of the “AI race” and the push to integrate this technology into pretty much every aspect of our lives at bay. The moment something becomes an acceptable, mainstream use of AI like something as seemingly harmless as writing an email, they see an opening that they’ll start pressing to its most extreme iteration. They’ll push the boundaries of what is deemed acceptable data for them to use to train their models, privacy and copyright be damned.
I know many people who are resigned to use chatgpt for work, who feel they have no choice but to use AI to keep up with the insane fast pace of the work place. But the more you clear the way for the steamroller that is the fully automated corporate machine, the closer you get to being steamrolled yourself. How much longer until they think you are an obstacle to efficiency?
And efficiency is not accessibility. Anyone who claims that AI lowers the barrier of entry for art, writing, labor of any form, is absolutely deluding themselves. The fact that it’s an “access” that’s entirely reliant on a program made by a private corporation makes that point immediately moot. Art is accessible because anyone can make art. The people who argue for AI "art" want to consume art for cheap. They don’t value it enough to see the human behind it or simply want recognition for art they can’t be bothered to make. Accessibility in art or any field doesn’t bypass the process of acquiring skill and anyone who loves art loves the process.
Even outside of its full context, Miyazaki calling this technology an insult to life itself is absolutely applicable to many of these popular uses of AI. What is the point of anything if everything gets replaced by the pre-masticated slop cooked up by a bunch of techbros?
The only art worth anything is the art someone could be bothered to actually make.

one of my favorite games to play whenever i rewatch the bear is “spot the very realistic health code/basic kitchen rule violations”
so far my favorite is one of the ones i’ve never seen mentioned: how often people wear their aprons outside the kitchen, which is absolutely a no-no and equally absolutely happens all the goddamned time and i am speaking from a lot of experience on that one

Something about people spreading misinformation or using "unfair" logic (namely willfully ignoring multiple important factors, comparisons, or history based on the subject) just drives me into an absolute frenzy even if I otherwise 100% agree with their stance on an issue.

There’s something about that fact that Callie didn’t actually even properly throw the guts on the bullies at school, didn’t actually properly attack them with them, instead she just dumped them in their lunch trays and the odd bit splashed on them

a thought following this post by @animate-mush
...the narrow black velvet band which she seems always to wear round her throat, buckled with an old diamond buckle which her lover [Arthur] had given her [Lucy], was dragged a little up, and showed a red mark on her throat.
and
I [Mina] took the book from under his [Jonathan's] pillow, and wrapped it up in white paper, and tied it with a little bit of pale blue ribbon which was round my neck, and sealed it over the knot with sealing-wax, and for my seal I used my wedding ring.
Arthur, Lucy's lover, ties a black ribbon with a diamond buckle around Lucy's neck.
Mina, Jonathan's lover, ties a pale blue ribbon with a wax seal around Jonathan's journal, using her wedding ring as the seal. Her ring is almost certainly diamond, as most late Victorian wedding rings were.
Both ribbons with the seal hide scars (physical or mental) that lie underneath.
Lucy's ribbon has now been untied, by someone else.

I am, frankly, disturbed by the amount of misogyny I see everyday not only from men, conservatives or incels but from people who claim to be "leftist" and "progressive" and I feel like I am freaking out because it really feels like women are truly alone in this world and the only ones fighting for ourselves and our rights. And I am truly scared for the future of women and girls.
